Public Information Specialist (PIS)

The PIS position is designed to improve access to the Department by informing and educating the public. This is accomplished through various social media sites that are managed by the PIS. The position of the PIS exists to provide a chief spokesperson for the Department on a consistent basis. The PIS reports directly to the Chief of Police and coordinates response to media inquiries, providing information about crime incidents, and the Department’s policies and procedures. The Fullerton Police Department is striving to develop positive relationships with the media and our community. Since the media is often the conduit that the department uses to convey messages, an open and positive relationship is paramount.
