Dr. Sueling Chen

Chief's Advisory Board Member

Dr Sueling Chen is a successful immigrant, female entrepreneur with a passion for educating young minds. She came to America at the age 24 with two suitcases and much enthusiasm to pursue her Master Degree and American dream.

From the very start, Dr. Chen had a personal passion and goal for serving the community through providing high quality education and community services. She created Arborland Montessori Children’s Academy and Arborland Education & Youth Activity Center to hold students to high standards of learning and responsibility.

 In spite of her busy schedule, Dr. Chen remains active and volunteers in several community organizations. She serves as the President of Fullerton Public Library Board of Trustees, a Board of Trustee of the St. Jude Medical Center, a member of North Orange County Community College District Citizens’ Oversight Committee, a member of Fullerton Rotary Club, and a member of Congresswomen Michelle Steel’s and Young Kim’s AAPI Advisory Boards. Dr. Chen was also a founding member of Fullerton Chinese Cultural Association and Fullerton Chinese School.

Dr. Chen has a Bachelor's Degree and a teaching credential from National Taiwan Normal University, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from USC, a Montessori Elementary Teaching Credential from American Montessori Society, and a Doctorate degree in Education Leadership from USC. 

 Dr. Chen has received many awards. She has been recognized as Educator of the Year by Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, Woman of the Year Award 3 times by California Assembly Districts, YWCA Women of the Year Award, Fullerton Women's Leadership Award, Fullerton College President’s Award, and Women of Distinction Award by California State Assembly and Orange County Supervisor. Dr. Sueling Chen’s civic, educational, cultural, and business contributions have made an immense and lasting impact on North Orange County.
