Each year, the Traffic Engineering Division receives many inquiries about installing red, yellow, green, white, and blue curb in front of residences and businesses alike. Each request is considered by staff to determine the impact that the installation may have on the surrounding properties, as well as its impact on motorist safety. In the case of blue curb (disabled parking) other factors are to be considered. Such as; does the location meet the minimum requirements of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).
Installation Policies: To request the installation of painted curb, please address a letter to the Traffic Engineering Division at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92832. The request must come from the property owner whose curb face is affected. In addition, any support form the surrounding businesses or residences in the immediate are is helpful. Your request will be evaluated with the data results presented to the Transportation and Circulation Commission (T&CC) for further consideration. At such time that the T&CC approves the request, it will be forwarded to the City Council for final approval or denial. If Council approves the request, staff will issue a work order to install the designated curb markings.
