Council Member Ahmad Zahra has been a resident of the City of Fullerton and Council District 5 since 2001. A small business owner, Council Member Zahra is the president of Zahra Pictures LLC, a film production company based in Fullerton. He was elected in 2018 to a four-year term as the first directly-elected city council member for Council District 5.

Council Member Zahra has a long history of deep engagement in the Fullerton community. He is a member of the Fullerton Collaborative and founder of Ahmad’s School Drive, an on-going community effort that collects school supplies for South Fullerton elementary schools. In addition, he and his business have participated in California State University - Fullerton’s internship program, hired from the film and theatre department at Fullerton College, and raised funds for student film projects to help aspiring local filmmakers and other students with opportunities to advance and to gain valuable industry experience.

Council Member Zahra lives in Council District 5. Raised between England and Syria, he holds a medical degree from the University of Damascus, and early in his professional career practiced medicine as a pathologist.

Council Member Zahra was elected to a full four-year term representing District 5 in 2018 and 2022. The current term expires in 2026.
