Welcome to Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is your annual opportunity to make your benefits choices for the upcoming year. During Open Enrollment, you can enroll or change your plan options and add or remove dependents from your coverage.
The Open Enrollment period to enroll or make changes to your 2025 plan year benefits will from September 23rd through October 18th. Consider your enrollment options carefully as changes are not allowed after October 18th, or during the 2025 plan year, unless you experience a qualified change in family status as defined by the IRS.
Even if your 2025 plan elections are not changing, Open Enrollment is a good time to evaluate the available options to be sure your selections are right for you and your family. You should also review your beneficiaries at this time.
Please review your Benefits Profile and return to HR by October 18th.
Benefit elections made during this enrollment period will be effective January 1, 2025
What You Need to Do
If you do not want to make any changes, you do not need to do anything. Your current health benefit elections will automatically continue to 2025 with the exception of your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) election. You must re-enroll in your FSA benefits if you would like coverage in 2025.
If you would like to make any changes to your benefit plans, refer to the City’s Employee Benefits Guide for plan information and contact HR for an enrollment form. All Open Enrollment changes must be submitted to HR no later than Friday, October 18th. You can email the completed forms to Christine Pilapil at christine.pilapil@cityoffullerton.com or mail to: City of Fullerton, Human Resources, 303 W. Commonwealth Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92832.
