Any individual intending to perform any work within city limits related to backflow assembly annual testing, maintenance/repair or installation/testing must posses a current certification from the County of Orange Health Care Agency and a city business license. In addition a city water permit is also required for any new or replaced backflow device, and you may obtain these permits at City Hall located at 303 West Commonwealth Avenue, second floor in the Engineering Department.

Please be aware that any new installation or replacement of an existing backflow assembly must be in accordance the requirements outlined in the City of Fullerton Water Utility Specifications.

For all new backflow assemblies not previously existing, the proposed location of the backflow device, protective enclosure and all parts must be approved by the Water Quality Specialist or City Water Inspector prior to installation.
