Curious about your water usage?

Discover how our water conservation audit program can assist you in understanding your water bill and identifying opportunities to save water. Whether your bill is elevated due to a possible leak or prolonged irrigation, the meter monitor placed around your meter enables precise tracking of water usage. Through the analysis of the gathered data, we can assess irrigation schedules, detect leaks, and provide recommendations for more effective water conservation.

How this works

As water passes through the meter, it activates the meter register to account for the water entering  your property. Staff will schedule a date to place a monitoring device on your meter. Most meters are located in the public right of way along the street where staff have public access, residents do not need to be present for monitor deployment but accommodations can be made if a resident would like to be present. The meter monitor will record the rotation of the meter register every ten seconds to capture the water passing through the meter. After a week of monitoring, staff will retrieve the device to upload the data so that we can analyze water usage and interpret the results. Residents can expect a report of the meter monitoring and recommendations within a week after the monitor has been retrieved.

The conservation audit is a free program aimed at assisting residents become more aware of their water use. The city is limited on the number of conservation audits that can be performed per week. Residents will be accommodated on a first come first served basis.
