The Sewer Division has several programs to maintain and repair the 320 miles of sewer lines in Fullerton. City crews provide routine and emergency main line cleaning, and has a program to clean private sewer laterals clogs by roots from City-owned trees. The Division manages a Fats, OIls and Grease (F.O.G.) control program to minimize sewer blockages caused by grease. The Sewer Maintenance Division coordinate with the Engineering section to manage a comprehensive Capital Repair Program to keep the sewer system safe and reliable. These programs are part of state and federal mandated programs to prevent costly and potentially hazardous sewer spills and failures.
